Fun, yet scary day...

Today was, just as the post title says, a fun, yet scary day.
Let me start by saying that all is well. The day started great-- sleeping in, having breakfast and loading up the expedition to go to Seguin to have a Thanksgiving dinner with Winston's family. We took the dogs up with us, so that they wouldn't have to stay home all day.
We got to Winston's parents house first and let the dogs play around in their HUGE backyard.
They loved every minute of it--even playing with thier Uncle Teddy (a one year old corgi).
After that , we headed over to Winston's aunts house and had a lovely afternoon hanging out with his family. We then returned back to his parent's home and let the dogs all out to play again. Here is where the day got scary...We walked down to to the edge of their property where they have a dock built on the Guadalupe river. While walking along a portion of the dock, Bailey lost his footing and fell backwards into the river. Before this happened, I had jokingly asked Winston if either of the dogs fell in, if he would go in after them as neither of them can swim...LITERALLY. So, as soon as I saw Bailey fall, I started screaming for Winston who was there and in the water in no time. Getting them both out of the water proved to be difficult and took us about 15 minutes! You can imagine how warn out Winston was by the time he got out...not to mention he was quite cold too!
Needless to say, Bailey is fine. He has a cut under his tail and on his foot and was a little shaken, but overall, he is doing great. Winston is doing great as well and he is my hero for saving my baby boy!!!!
Sorry, but in the midst of turmoil, there was no time for photos.

Good thing you had quizzed Winston beforehand to see if he'd be willing to dive in! :) Glad to hear both of your boys are okay..
