More from SXSW!

The Festival continued this weekend and we were lucky enough to be a part of it!!!

After going to the Verizon party last Saturday, we found out that there was another ticket in our badges for an event on Friday! So, Winston and one of our neighbors, Beth, picked myself and my co-worker, Dan up and we were on our way. We got to Scholtz Garden around 6:30pm and hung out until about 10pm. We lucked out...free admission, free drinks and free parking! A few other people I work with came by as well. Good times!

The next morning, we were feeling some of the effects of our previous evening, but we knew there was no time for hangovers...we had to be downtown and in line at Maggie Mae's (a bar on 6th street) ASAP, to ensure that we were able to get into Rachel Ray's party. Once again, free admission, and free drinks. However, this party was downtown, so we had to pay for parking. We got down there later than anticipated, but my co-worker, Jeremy, was there in line so we jumped in with him! We were some of the lucky ones who got right in! What a blast this party was! This was my first experience hanging out on 6th street. This bar was amazing and the bands were incredible. I got photos with a lot of the artists including Ben Schneider and John Pringle. I tried to get a photo with Rachel Ray, but she was too busy..but she did pose for me!!! Before we left, we stopped and listened to The Airborne Toxic Event play for a bit and I was thrilled when they played "Sometime Around Midnight"!! I got the whole thing on video! After the party ended, we went over to Jeremy's place and relaxed for a bit before heading home. The party was from noon-5pm and we ended up getting home around 8pm.

We are so excited to have been able to experience SXSW for very nominal prices!! Mainly just tips and parking!!!
